How to order from Taobao to Uzbekistan: a complete step-by-step guide

Before you start: what you need

• The Taobao app (淘宝) — from the App Store or Google Play.
• A payment card — Visa or Mastercard, enabled for international online payments. You can usually switch this on in your bank’s app.
• A DTD ID and the China warehouse address — both are issued in our Telegram bot. Signing up takes a few minutes — tap “📝 Регистрация” (Sign up) — and your ID appears instantly. The bot works in Uzbek and Russian.

Step 1. Install the app and sign up

Open the Taobao app and sign up with your phone number: change the country code to +998 and enter the code you receive by SMS. You don’t need a separate password — next time you log in with an SMS code as well.

Step 2. Find the product

Searching on Taobao in Chinese gives far more results, and more accurate ones. Translate the word into Chinese with a translator app or take it from the table below.

• Search by image — tap the camera icon in the search bar and upload a photo of the product. It’s an easy way to find something you saw on Instagram.
• Sort by sales — sort the results by “销量” (sales): a product that has sold many times has usually been tried and tested.

Step 3. Choose a reliable seller

Dozens of Taobao stores sell the same product, so look beyond the price and check the following:

• Number sold — shown on the product page as “已售” (sold) or “月销” (sold per month).
• Reviews with photos — open the photo and video reviews in the “评价” (reviews) section: this is where you see what buyers actually received.
• Tmall (天猫) stores — official brand stores; their names often include “旗舰店” (flagship store). Branded goods have a separate cargo rate — see the rates page.
• Ask the seller — if you’re not sure about the size or quality, message the seller before you buy. Ready-made Chinese phrases are in a separate article.

Step 4. Add the China warehouse address

Adding the China warehouse address is the most important step. If even one character in the address is wrong, the parcel will still reach our warehouse, but there will be no way to tell whose it is. You get the address from the bot and save it in Taobao once:

   Open the address section

   “我的淘宝” (My Taobao) → settings (设置) in the top right → “收货地址” (delivery addresses) → “添加收货地址” (add a delivery address).

   Enter the recipient and phone number

   Copy the “name” line of the address from the bot into the recipient field and the “phone number” line into the phone field, exactly as they are.

   Enter the region and full address

   In the “所在地区” (region) field, select the province, city and district from the start of the address, one after another. In the “详细地址” (detailed address) field, paste the address line from the bot together with the ID at the end.

   Save it as your default address

   Turn on “默认地址” (default address) — it will then be selected automatically for your next orders.

Step 5. Air or road — choose the route

The address you choose decides how the parcel travels: the air address means by plane, and the road address marked “(By land)” means overland.

Perfume, liquids and power banks are not carried by plane — use only the road address for them. Phones, tablets, medicines and food cannot be shipped at all: see the full list on the customs page.

Step 6. Place the order and pay

When you go from the cart to the order page (“确认订单”), check the address at the very top — it must be the DTD address with your ID in it. Then tap “提交订单” (submit order) and pay with a Visa or Mastercard card or with Alipay.

Card declined? First check in your bank’s app that the card is enabled for international payments. If it still doesn’t go through, message our operator and we’ll help you sort it out.

Step 7. Find the tracking number and follow your parcel

Once the seller ships, the order moves to the “待收货” (awaiting receipt) section. Open the order → “查看物流” (view logistics) — the number next to “运单号” at the top is your tracking number.

You don’t have to enter the tracking number in the bot: if your ID is written correctly in the address, the parcel is added to your account automatically as soon as it reaches our warehouse, and the bot lets you know. From then on its status updates: 🇨🇳 In China → ✈️ On the way → 🛂 At the airport → 🏠 In Tashkent. You can check it any time at trek.d2d.uz, even without signing up.

How much Taobao shipping to Uzbekistan costs: examples

The cargo fee depends on the parcel’s weight, not on the item’s price or the number of items: weight × rate. A parcel lighter than 1 kg is charged by its actual weight — 0.5 kg costs half the rate.

• Large but light goods (toys, chairs, plastic items) are charged by volume — send the dimensions to our operator in advance and we’ll calculate the price. This rule doesn’t apply to clothing.
• All your parcels in the same shipment are combined into one bill. In Tashkent, shipments over 5 kg are delivered to your address for free; in the regions, delivery to the branch is always free.
• Every kilogram of air cargo earns DUR cashback: 20 DUR = 1 kg of free shipping. Details: DUR program.

5 mistakes beginners make

1. 1Leaving the ID out of the address, or writing it on only one line — the parcel sits in the warehouse with no owner.
2. 2Deleting “(By land)” for road cargo — the parcel may be sent by air instead.
3. 3Buying prohibited goods — phones, medicines, vitamins and drone parts are stopped at customs. Check the list.
4. 4Ignoring the size chart — Chinese sizes run small.
5. 5Asking the cargo company about a parcel the seller hasn’t shipped yet — first check on Taobao that the order status is “待收货”.
